Alvania ALV300 Electrical Jointing Compound
Alvania ALV300 is an electrical jointing compound designed for bolted electrical connections.
It suits connections such as parallel groove clamps and other bolted joints involving aluminium-to-aluminium or aluminium-to-copper contact surfaces.
After correct surface preparation, ALV300 coats the exposed metal and helps exclude air and moisture. As a result, it helps prevent re-oxidation and corrosion within the electrical joint.

ALV300 provides a protective barrier around prepared electrical contact surfaces while allowing the bolted connection to maintain direct metal-to-metal contact.
Alvania ALV300 for Bolted Connections
Aluminium quickly develops an oxide film when exposed to air. This oxide layer has poor electrical conductivity and therefore needs to be removed correctly before making the joint.

Preparing Aluminium Electrical Joints
Surface preparation plays an important role in achieving a reliable aluminium electrical connection.
Remove dirt, grease and existing oxide film from the conductor or contact surface before assembly. Where the installation procedure specifies scratch brushing, use the correct brush for the conductor material.
After preparing the surface, apply ALV300 jointing compound immediately. This helps limit exposure of the freshly cleaned aluminium to air before completing the connection.

ALV300 vs Alminox Jointing Compound
The correct compound depends on the type of electrical connection.
Alvania ALV300 is primarily suited to bolted connections and acts as a non-gritted contact sealant.
