Description
The Cembre RHC131 is a compact hydraulic crimping head for installing electrical compression connectors on conductors up to 400 mm².
It develops 130 kN of nominal crimping force and connects to a suitable hydraulic pump through an automatic-locking male quick coupler. Therefore, operators can combine the head with compatible Cembre hydraulic power units for heavy-duty electrical termination work.
The open C-head design also provides easy access to cables, connectors and interchangeable crimping dies.
RHC131 Hydraulic Crimping Head
The RHC131 uses the same standard die system as compatible Cembre 130 kN crimping tools and heads.
Its hydraulic system operates at a maximum pressure of 700 bar. In addition, the head requires approximately 47 cm³ of hydraulic oil displacement for a complete operating cycle.
As a result, the compact hydraulic head can provide substantial crimping force while weighing only approximately 3.8 kg.
130 kN Crimping Force
The hydraulic head develops 130 kN of nominal crimping force and suits electrical connectors on conductors up to 400 mm².
Depending on the connector and selected die, compatible crimping profiles include:
- Hexagonal crimping
- Indent crimping
- Oval crimping
- Radial crimping
Therefore, the same head can support a wide range of cable lug and electrical connector applications.
However, operators should always select the correct Cembre die for the connector, conductor size and required crimp profile.
RHC131 Open C-Head Design
The RHC131 uses an open C-shaped head for convenient access to the crimping area.
First, operators install the appropriate upper and lower dies into the head. They can then position the connector between the dies at the required crimp location.
As hydraulic pressure increases, the ram advances until the die faces meet and complete the crimp.
In addition, the open-head design makes die changes straightforward when moving between connector sizes or crimp profiles.
Cembre 130 kN Die Compatibility
The RHC131 accepts standard semi-circular slotted dies used across compatible Cembre 130 kN crimping tools.
Therefore, businesses already using Cembre 130 kN tooling can share compatible dies between multiple tools and hydraulic heads.
For example, the head uses the same general die system as the Cembre HT131-C Manual Hydraulic Crimping Tool and compatible Cembre battery hydraulic crimpers.
Crimping dies are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
RHC131 700 Bar Hydraulic Operation
The head requires a hydraulic pump with a maximum operating pressure of 700 bar.
Its self-locking male quick coupler provides a fast connection to compatible Cembre hydraulic, pneumatic or electro-hydraulic pumps.
For portable battery operation, the RHC131 can be paired with a suitable 700 bar power unit such as the Cembre B1300PL Battery Hydraulic Pump.
Therefore, operators can use the same hydraulic power source with multiple compatible Cembre heads.
Always fully release hydraulic pressure before disconnecting the head from the hose.
RHC131 vs HT131-C
Both the RHC131 and HT131-C Manual Hydraulic Crimping Tool provide 130 kN of crimping force and support electrical connectors on conductors up to 400 mm².
However, the RHC131 is a separate hydraulic crimping head and requires an external hydraulic pump.
In comparison, the HT131-C combines its crimping head and manual hydraulic pump into one self-contained tool.
Therefore, the RHC131 is particularly useful where operators already have a compatible hydraulic power unit or want one pump to operate several different hydraulic heads.
