Cembre AR60A-41 Rail Web Bush Connection Kit
The Cembre AR60A-41 bush kit provides a permanent, low resistance electrical connection point on the rail web, engineered for the demands of heavy haul railway applications. Rather than relying on welded or clamped connections, the AR system uses a precision drilled hole in the rail web into which a conductive bush is installed under controlled expansion, creating a gas tight, metal to metal interface with the rail itself.
The result is an electrical connection with exceptionally high resistance to vibration, weather exposure and atmospheric agents, maintaining stable low contact resistance over the long service life expected in rail infrastructure. Because the connection is mechanical rather than thermal, there is no heat affected zone in the rail and no risk of the metallurgical damage associated with welded bonds, making it suitable for use on all rail grades including head hardened rail.
The AR60A-41 kit is suitable for traction return bonding, continuity bonding, ground bonding, substation connections, electrical drainage, signal track circuit continuity and signal track circuit connections. Once the bush is installed, cable connections can be made, inspected and replaced without disturbing the rail interface, simplifying ongoing maintenance and future upgrades.
Installation is carried out using Cembre rail drilling and installation tooling, ensuring a repeatable, specification compliant connection every time, independent of operator welding skill or track possession conditions that affect thermal bonding methods.
