Aircraft warning markers for overhead power lines
These aircraft warning markers provide a visible indication of overhead power lines near airports, river crossings and mining sites. In addition, the UFO range uses polyethylene spheres made from UV-stabilised material, with Heliformed fittings supplied to attach the marker to the conductor.
Choose the sphere diameter, conductor range and colour required for your project. This page lists twelve 300 mm UFO3 options and one 600 mm UFO6 option. The photo shows an orange example; however, the full SKU and selected colour identify the item you are ordering.

In particular, the suffix O means orange, Y means yellow and W means white. First, match the conductor diameter to the specified range. Then check the sphere size and colour. For example, UFO3140O and UFO6140W share a conductor range, but have different sphere diameters and colours.
Material, fittings and application limit
- Polyethylene sphere in the listed 300 or 600 mm size.
- UV-stabilised material with colour through the material, rather than a surface coating.
- Supplied Heliformed fittings for attachment to the conductor.
- Colour selection to provide contrast with the surrounding landscape.
PLP states that these markers should not be installed on energised power lines above 150 kV. Therefore, consult PLP for application guidance. However, sphere size, colour and placement should follow the requirements specified for your project.
The ranges and application limit appear on page 124 of the PLP distribution catalogue. Likewise, the UFO3 and UFO6 tables on page 11-7 of the Dulmison catalogue also identify these conductor ranges and colour suffixes.
