Utilux Yellow Ring Terminals
Ring terminals crimp onto a stripped conductor and terminate in a closed ring. This ring fits fully around a stud or screw, so the connection stays seated even under vibration or repeated movement. Utilux yellow ring terminals suit stranded conductors from 2.5mm² to 6.0mm², colour-coded yellow to match this conductor range.
Because the ring closes fully around the stud, the terminal cannot slip off sideways. An open fork terminal can slip off in this way, but a ring terminal cannot. Consequently, ring terminals are the standard choice wherever a permanent bolted connection is required.
Stud Sizes and Insulation Styles
Specifically, this range covers three insulation styles, each with its own stocked stud-size range.
- Insulated – 4mm to 12mm stud sizes
- Supergrip – 3mm to 12mm stud sizes
- Uninsulated – 3mm to 16mm stud sizes
Applications
Installers use ring terminals wherever a conductor terminates permanently at a stud, busbar or screw terminal. Typical examples include switchboard wiring, earthing connections and control panel building. Accordingly, this range covers the stud sizes commonly found in this equipment.
In all cases, correct crimping requires a crimping tool suited to this conductor size range. The Supergrip style adds a heavier-duty crimp barrel for extra pull-out strength on the same conductor range. Installers can therefore choose Insulated, Supergrip or Uninsulated to suit the application. The Uninsulated style also reaches the widest stud size in this range, 16mm, for the heaviest-duty connections.
