Description
The Cembre HT131-C is a heavy-duty manual hydraulic crimping tool for electrical connectors on conductors from 10 to 400 mm².
Overall, it develops 130 kN of crimping force through a self-contained hydraulic system. Therefore, operators need no battery, external pump or power supply.
Generally, the manual crimper suits electrical installation, utilities, infrastructure, industrial maintenance and other heavy-duty cable termination applications. In addition, it accepts standard dies used across compatible Cembre 130 kN crimping tools and heads.
HT131-C Hydraulic Crimping Tool
In particular, the tool combines the hydraulic pump, crimping head and operating handles into one self-contained unit.
Its hydraulic system operates at up to 700 bar and develops 130 kN of nominal crimping force. In addition, a maximum-pressure valve controls the hydraulic system when it reaches the required pressure.
Operators can also release the hydraulic pressure manually at any stage of the crimping cycle.
Twin-Speed Hydraulic Operation
Namely, the manual crimper uses a two-speed hydraulic system to reduce the amount of pumping required.
First, the ram advances quickly to bring the dies towards the connector. The hydraulic system then automatically changes to a slower, high-force stage for the actual crimp.
As a result, operators get fast die positioning together with the hydraulic force required for heavy-duty electrical connections.
180° Rotating C-Head
Consequently, the open C-shaped crimping head rotates through 180°.
Therefore, operators can position the head more easily around cables and connectors. This feature is particularly useful when working inside switchboards, substations and other restricted areas.
In addition, the open-head design provides easy access when fitting or removing compatible crimping dies.
Crimping Die Compatibility
The hydraulic crimper accepts standard dies compatible with the Cembre 130 kN crimping tool range.
Depending on the connector and die combination, the tool supports several crimping profiles, including:
- Hexagonal crimping
- Indent crimping
- Oval crimping
- Radial crimping
However, operators should always select the correct die for the connector, conductor size and required crimp profile.
Crimping dies are sold separately.
HT131-C vs B1350-CT
Both the HT131-C and Cembre B1350-CT Battery Hydraulic Crimping Tool use Cembre’s 130 kN crimping system and suit electrical connectors on conductors up to 400 mm².
However, the manual tool requires no batteries or charging equipment.
By comparison, the B1350-CT uses an 18V battery-powered hydraulic system. Therefore, the battery model better suits frequent or higher-volume crimping work.
Meanwhile, the manual hydraulic tool provides a dependable option for:
- Remote worksites
- Occasional heavy-duty crimping
- Utility and infrastructure maintenance
- Backup to battery hydraulic crimpers
- Applications where battery charging is impractical
