Description

Cembre Cable Tags for Holders

Cembre cable tags provide a professional identification system for cables, conductors, conduit, tubing and electrical components.

In general, these pre-cut markers come from Cembre in sheet format for thermal-transfer printing. After printing, each marker snaps away from its supporting stem and fits into the appropriate transparent holder.

Two Cembre marking systems appear in this range: MG-TPMF markers for PMF holders and MG-TPM markers for PM holders. Although both systems provide clear cable identification, they use different materials and holders. Therefore, always match the marker with the correct holder system.

MG-TPMF Cable Tags

Specifically, Cembre manufactures MG-TPMF markers from rigid PVC for use with PMF transparent holders.

Each marker measures 4mm wide, while several lengths provide different amounts of printable space. For example, shorter tags suit simple cable numbers, whereas longer versions provide more room for circuit references and equipment identification.

In addition, Cembre specifies MG-TPMF material with a UL94 V0 self-extinguishing rating, 0.5mm thickness and an operating temperature range from -30°C to +60°C.

Overall, key features include rigid PVC construction, 4mm marker width, multiple marker lengths, pre-cut sheet format, compatibility with PMF holders and suitability for Cembre MG4 thermal-transfer printing.

Furthermore, Cembre produces MG-TPMF markers in several colours and sizes. Additionally, Engineering Supplies stocks the commonly used white versions for industrial electrical identification.

Available MG-TPMF Sizes

Engineering Supplies stocks the following MG-TPMF markers:

Part NumberMarker SizeBox Quantity
CEM-42090B4 × 10mm5,600
CEM-42091B4 × 12mm4,000
CEM-42092B4 × 15mm4,000
CEM-42094B4 × 18mm1,600
CEM-42093B4 × 20mm1,600
CEM-42096B4 × 30mm1,200
CEM-42097B4 × 40mm800

As a result, users can select a marker length to suit anything from compact conductor numbering through to longer cable descriptions.

MG-TPM Cable Markers

The MG-TPM range provides another holder-based identification option.

Unlike MG-TPMF, Cembre manufactures MG-TPM markers from polycarbonate. Consequently, this range offers a broader operating temperature range from -40°C to +130°C.

Engineering Supplies stocks the following MG-TPM sizes:

Part NumberMarker SizeBox Quantity
CEM-400904 × 10mm2,250
CEM-400914 × 12mm2,250
CEM-400924 × 15mm2,250
CEM-400934 × 18mm2,250

Generally, these markers work with the corresponding Cembre PM holder system. Therefore, do not interchange PM and PMF holders without confirming compatibility.

Cembre Cable Tags and Holders

Overall, the printed marker forms one part of the complete identification system.

For MG-TPMF markers, choose a compatible PMF holder according to both the cable outside diameter and required marker length. Meanwhile, MG-TPM markers use the corresponding PM holder range.

Specifically, the transparent holder positions the printed identification securely on the cable. At the same time, it keeps the information clearly visible for installation, inspection and maintenance.

Holders are sold separately.

Printing Cembre Cable Tags with the MG4

Indeed, the Cembre MG4 Printer prints these sheet-format markers using thermal-transfer technology.

For example, users can print cable numbers, circuit references, text, electrical symbols, logos, barcodes and QR codes. Therefore, the same printing system can handle anything from simple conductor identification to more detailed asset marking.

In addition, the MG4 supports a broad range of Cembre identification media. As a result, switchboard builders and industrial users can produce cable, terminal and equipment identification through one printing platform.

Cable Identification Applications

Generally, Cembre cable tags suit switchboards, control panels, individual conductors, power cables, control cables, conduit, tubing, PLC cabinets, machinery, instrumentation systems, industrial equipment, OEM assemblies and cable harnesses.

For example, a switchboard builder can use the same Cembre marking platform to identify cables, terminals and electrical components. Consequently, the completed panel can maintain a consistent identification format throughout the installation.

In addition, removable holder-based markers make future cable identification changes easier because the printed insert and holder remain separate components.

MG-TPMF vs TPM-ROLL Cable Tags

Cembre offers both sheet-fed and roll-fed cable markers for holder systems.

Namely, MG-TPMF markers use sheet format and suit the Cembre MG4 Printer.

In comparison, Cembre TPM-ROLL Cable Tags come on continuous rolls for printing with the Cembre ROLLY3000.

Therefore, MG-TPMF provides a natural choice for customers already using the MG4 system. Meanwhile, TPM-ROLL offers an efficient alternative for higher-volume roll-fed production.
