Description
The Cembre BD600ND is an 18V dieless battery hydraulic crimping tool for compatible electrical compression connectors from 10 to 240 mm².
Unlike conventional hydraulic crimpers, the BD600ND does not require interchangeable crimping dies. Instead, its integral indenting head adjusts to the compatible connector being installed. Therefore, operators can move between conductor sizes without selecting, carrying or changing separate die sets.
For Australian supply, the BD600NDT version includes the appropriate AUS/NZ battery charger.
BD600ND Dieless Hydraulic Crimping Tool
The main advantage of the BD600ND is its dieless crimping system.
Because the crimping components form part of the tool head, operators do not need a separate set of dies for each conductor size. As a result, tool preparation is quicker and there is less equipment to manage on site.
This design makes the tool particularly useful for electrical installers, utilities, switchboard builders, infrastructure contractors and maintenance teams that regularly terminate several different conductor sizes.
BD600ND Crimping Range
Cembre specifies the tool for compatible electrical compression connectors on conductors from 10 to 240 mm².
The BD600ND uses an indent crimping geometry and develops up to 60 kN of crimping force.
Therefore, the tool provides one crimping platform across a broad conductor range without changing dies.
However, dieless does not mean every connector is automatically compatible. Always confirm the connector type and size against Cembre’s approved application information before crimping.
18V Battery Hydraulic Operation
The tool uses an 18V Li-Ion battery-powered hydraulic system, which removes the need for an external hydraulic pump or hose.
In addition, its bi-linear body layout provides a slim, balanced format for field use.
The hydraulic system operates at up to 750 bar. Meanwhile, the compact design keeps operating weight to approximately 3.1 kg including the battery.
As a result, the BD600ND combines substantial hydraulic force with a relatively lightweight cordless platform.
EPS Pressure Monitoring and Smart Release
An EPS electronic pressure sensor monitors hydraulic pressure throughout the crimping cycle.
Therefore, the tool can monitor whether the required pressure has been reached during each operation.
In addition, Smart Release technology manages hydraulic depressurisation after the crimp. Operators can also release pressure manually whenever required.
A maximum-pressure valve provides additional hydraulic protection.
OLED Display and Digital Tool Data
The BD600ND includes an integrated display for viewing operating information.
Furthermore, Cembre’s cordless hydraulic tool platform uses SMARTOOL technology to record and download operational data. Therefore, users can access useful information for tool management, servicing and job records.
A USB cable is included with the tool for data transfer.
BD600ND vs B500NDT
Both the BD600ND and Cembre B500NDT Battery Hydraulic Crimping Tool provide portable 18V hydraulic crimping.
However, their crimping systems are fundamentally different.
The BD600ND uses a dieless indenting system for compatible connectors from 10 to 240 mm². Therefore, operators do not need interchangeable crimping dies.
In comparison, the B500NDT uses interchangeable Cembre dies and supports several crimp profiles across a wider range of connector applications.
The BD600ND is therefore particularly attractive where reducing die selection, tool preparation and accessory management is a priority.
