Description

Cembre HNN4 Mechanical Crimping Tool

The Cembre HNN4 Mechanical Crimping Tool is a compact hand crimper from Cembre’s CRIMPSTAR® range. Cembre designed the HNN4 for pre-insulated electrical connectors from 10 to 16mm².

The tool uses an indent crimp profile and a built-in ratchet system. Therefore, it provides a simple and controlled way to crimp larger pre-insulated terminals without batteries or hydraulic equipment.

The HNN4 suits electrical contractors, switchboard builders, maintenance teams and other professional users.

Cembre HNN4 10–16mm² Crimping Range

Suits:

  • Pre-insulated electrical connectors
  • Conductor sizes from 10mm² to 16mm²
  • Indent crimping
  • Electrical installation and maintenance
  • Workshop and field use

However, always select a crimping tool to suit both the conductor size and the terminal manufacturer’s crimping requirements.

Ratchet Crimp Control

The Cembre HNN4 uses a factory-set ratchet mechanism to control each crimping cycle.

As a result, the ratchet helps the operator complete the full crimp before the handles reopen. This makes the HNN4 easy to use for repeated termination work.

In addition, Cembre includes an emergency release lever. This allows the operator to reopen the jaws before completing a crimp when required.

Treated Steel Crimping Jaws

Cembre uses treated steel for the HNN4 crimping jaws. Consequently, the tool suits regular professional electrical work.

The HNN4 also has fixed crimping jaws. Therefore, operators do not need to select, change or store separate dies when working within the tool’s specified connector range.

Compact Cembre HNN4 Hand Crimper

The Cembre HNN4 mechanical crimper weighs only 492g. As a result, it fits easily into tool bags and service vehicles.

The tool measures just 235 × 73 × 19mm. Therefore, it provides a compact option for electricians and technicians who need a dedicated crimper for larger pre-insulated electrical connectors.

Furthermore, the HNN4 operates entirely by hand. You do not need batteries, chargers, pumps or hydraulic hoses.

Applications for the Cembre HNN4

Suits many professional electrical applications, including:

  • Switchboard and control panel manufacturing
  • Electrical contracting
  • Industrial electrical maintenance
  • Equipment manufacturing
  • Cable assembly
  • Mining and resources
  • Rail and infrastructure
  • Utilities
  • Field service and repairs

Because the HNN4 needs no batteries or hydraulic equipment, it also works well as a dedicated crimper for maintenance vehicles and field tool kits.

Choosing the Correct Cembre Crimping Tool

Cembre offers several CRIMPSTAR mechanical crimpers for different terminal types and conductor sizes. The HNN4 specifically suits pre-insulated electrical connectors from 10–16mm².

However, conductor size alone does not determine the correct crimping tool. Different terminals can require different crimp shapes and tooling.

For example, non-insulated terminals, copper compression lugs, bootlace ferrules and other connector types may require another Cembre crimper.
