Cembre HN5 Crimping Tool

The Cembre HN5 crimping tool is a professional mechanical hand crimper for uninsulated electrical terminals and connectors from 10–16mm².

Part of Cembre’s CRIMPSTAR® range, the HN5 uses an indent crimp profile and requires no separate hydraulic system. In addition, its compact hand-tool design makes it suitable for switchboard, panel-building and general electrical termination work.

A factory-set ratchet controls the crimping cycle. Therefore, during normal use, the handles reopen automatically only after the tool completes the required compression.

Indent Crimp Profile

The HN5 produces an indent crimp on compatible uninsulated connector barrels.

During crimping, the jaws compress the connector around the conductor. Meanwhile, the ratchet mechanism controls the jaw movement through the crimping cycle.

Once the tool completes the compression, the handles automatically release. However, the emergency lever provides a way to reopen the jaws early if required.

Ratchet-Controlled Hand Crimping

Cembre equips the HN5 with a factory-set ratchet to help control each compression.

First, position the correctly selected connector in the appropriate crimping section. Next, insert the prepared conductor fully into the terminal.

Then close the handles until the tool completes its normal crimping cycle. Finally, the ratchet releases and allows the handles to reopen.

As a result, the operator receives mechanical feedback that the full tool cycle has been completed.
