Description

The Cembre HP3 crimping tool is a compact mechanical hand tool for crimping pre-insulated electrical connectors from 0.25 to 6 mm².

Part of Cembre’s Crimpstar® range, the HP3 combines treated steel crimping jaws with a factory-set ratchet system. Therefore, the handles only reopen normally after the crimping cycle has been completed.

In addition, its compact size and low 498 g weight make it well suited to electrical installation, switchboard building, maintenance and production work.

Cembre HP3 Crimping Tool

The HP3 uses fixed, treated steel crimping jaws designed for pre-insulated electrical connectors.

Its radial crimping action compresses the connector around the conductor as the operator closes the handles.

Meanwhile, the factory-set ratchet controls the crimping cycle. As a result, the tool helps provide consistent crimp completion rather than relying only on operator judgement.

HP3 Ratchet Crimping System

The HP3 crimping tool uses a ratchet mechanism that prevents the handles from reopening normally before the crimp reaches the end of its cycle.

Therefore, the operator must complete the crimp before the tool automatically releases.

This controlled action helps improve repeatability when installing pre-insulated terminals and connectors.

However, if the crimping cycle needs to be stopped, the HP3 includes an emergency release lever. This allows the jaws to open before completing the full cycle when required.

Cembre HP3 Pre-Insulated Terminal Crimping

Cembre specifies the HP3 for pre-insulated electrical connectors across a conductor range of:

0.25 to 6 mm²

Therefore, one compact hand tool covers many common small and medium electrical termination sizes.

Typical applications include:

  • Electrical control panels
  • Switchboards
  • Machinery wiring
  • Industrial maintenance
  • Automotive electrical work
  • General electrical installation
  • Pre-insulated terminals and connectors

Always select a connector that matches the conductor size and application before crimping.

HP3 Mechanical Crimping Tool Design

The HP3 measures just 235 x 78 x 19 mm and weighs approximately 498 g.

As a result, it is easy to carry in a tool bag and convenient to use in confined work areas.

In addition, Cembre equips the tool with ergonomic, non-slip bi-component handles. Therefore, operators gain a secure grip during repeated termination work.

Because the crimping jaws form part of the tool, no batteries, hydraulic pump or interchangeable dies are required.
