Description

A twisted clevis tongue connects line fittings where the clevis and tongue need a change in orientation. This forged steel range includes CTT70A and CTT160A models with bolt connections. Their catalogue minimum failing loads are 70 kN and 160 kN respectively.

First, compare the full part code with the assembly drawing. Then check the bolt diameter, tongue hole and clevis opening. These dimensions differ between the two options, even though both have a 76 mm dimension S.

Refer to the catalogue drawing for the measurement locations. For example, B identifies the clevis opening, while H identifies the tongue hole. Also check the mating hardware rather than choosing from the load figure alone.

Choosing the connection

The twisted form changes the relationship between the clevis and tongue ends. Therefore, confirm the required orientation in your line design before selecting a model. The A suffix identifies the bolt version shown in the catalogue.

  • CTT70A uses a 16 mm bolt and an 18 mm tongue hole.
  • CTT160A uses a 20 mm bolt and a 22 mm tongue hole.
  • Both listed models have forged steel bodies.
  • Both use the same 76 mm catalogue dimension S.

The minimum failing load is not a working load limit. Use the approved assembly design to confirm the required duty, connection sizes and orientation together.
