Description

An aluminium clevis thimble provides a seat for a dead-end grip and a pin connection to adjoining hardware. The ACT range is for use with aluminium and aluminium clad steel deadends. Choose ACT-27-16 or ACT-37-16 according to the grip and line assembly requirements.

Both models have an aluminium alloy body, a galvanised steel pin and a stainless steel split pin. First, match the full grip code to the required thimble. Then check the mating hardware and the specified load figure.

The maximum grip codes identify the catalogue selection limits for these thimbles. They are not conductor diameters. Therefore, check the actual grip part number and the complete dead-end assembly before ordering.

Bend radius and model selection

ACT-27-16 has a listed thimble bend radius of 36 mm. The published ACT-37-16 radius differs between PLP catalogues, so contact Engineering Supplies to confirm that dimension for the supplied stock.

The image is representative of a clevis thimble. Use the full stock SKU and confirmed dimensions to identify the required ACT model. Also request a stock photograph if the exact form is important to your selection.

  • ACT-27-16 has a 70 kN catalogue load figure.
  • ACT-37-16 has an 80 kN catalogue load figure.
  • Both models suit the stated aluminium dead-end applications.
  • Both use galvanised steel pins and stainless steel split pins.

Engineering Supplies lists the load figures under minimum failing load. Treat them as catalogue selection data, not working load limits. Use the approved line design to confirm the required duty.
