Description

GRC5 earth rod clamp

The GRC5 earth rod clamp connects a single earth conductor parallel to the rod. It suits 13–15 mm diameter earth rods and conductors from 10 to 35 mm². The listed conductor diameter range is 4.05–7.65 mm.

This compact clamp uses a copper-rich alloy body and a set screw to secure the connection. Its part number is ER-GRC5 in the Engineering Supplies range. Use that code when ordering or comparing the clamp with an existing installation.

GRC5 size range and construction

  • Part number: ER-GRC5
  • Connection type: single conductor, parallel to rod
  • Earth rod outside diameter: 13–15 mm
  • Conductor cross-section range: 10–35 mm²
  • Conductor diameter range: 4.05–7.65 mm
  • Body: alloy casting with a high copper content
  • Clamping method: set screw

Checking the fit

First, check the earth rod’s outside diameter. Then compare both the conductor cross-section and its actual diameter with the limits above. These are separate size checks, so a match on the rod alone is not enough to select the clamp.

Also confirm that the conductor is to run alongside the rod at the connection. The project design should define the required materials and connection method. Follow the appropriate fitting instructions when positioning the parts and tightening the set screw.

For a larger rod and conductor range, compare the EP1 earth rod clamp. It accepts 17–19 mm rods and 16–120 mm² conductors in a parallel layout. Check the complete size range before choosing an alternative.
