Galvanised stay wire in six strand sizes
Galvanised stay wire is available in seven-wire and nineteen-wire constructions for stay assemblies. Choose from six part numbers, with listed overall diameters from 6 to 16.3 mm where specified. The table helps you match the wire size and strand construction to your project parts list.
First, check the exact wire requirement on your drawing. Then compare the part number, stranding and overall diameter together. A strand size identifies the wire construction; it does not establish a load rating or confirm that a particular end fitting will suit.

For example, 7/2.00 means seven wires of 2.00 mm diameter. Likewise, 19/2.75 means nineteen wires of 2.75 mm diameter. The overall diameter describes the assembled strand, rather than one individual wire.
Sizes follow page 147 of the Engineering Supplies catalogue. That table does not give an overall diameter for STAY7160. Please confirm this dimension if your fitting selection depends on it.
