Insulation piercing connectors for low-voltage ABC
These insulation piercing connectors provide an insulated-cable-to-insulated-cable tap connection for low-voltage aerial bundled cable, or ABC. The range covers aluminium or copper conductors. Choose from K440, K441, K442, K443 and K445, using the full DULK order SKU.
Each model has a separate run range and tap range. First, check both conductor sizes against the same row. The run is the main cable connection; the tap is the branch connection. These ranges are conductor cross-sectional areas in mm².

The figures follow the insulated-to-insulated table on page 97 of the PLP distribution catalogue. They also appear on page 8-3 of the Dulmison catalogue.
Choose the correct connector
- K440 accepts the smallest listed tap range, from 1.5 to 6 mm².
- K441 and K443 share a 6–35 mm² tap range, but their run ranges differ.
- K442 accepts a 1.5–25 mm² tap with a 35–150 mm² run.
- K445 has matching 25–95 mm² run and tap ranges.
All five listed connectors use one shear-head bolt. However, K445 has a larger head size than the other four. A/F means across flats and identifies the head size; it is not a tightening torque.
Also, confirm the cable material and insulation type against the instructions for the exact part. Use the specified installation procedure and tools. The shared image illustrates the connector form, so select by SKU and cable ranges rather than appearance alone.
