Description

Service strain clamps for low-voltage ABC

These service strain clamps are for low-voltage aerial bundled cable, or ABC. Choose between the DULIBST435-2 wedge clamp with a detachable bail and the DULIBTH21635 hook-type clamp. Each option has its own core count, cable range and attachment form.

First, match the cable size and number of cores to the correct row. Then check the required clamp design and connection point. The long-strap photographs used in the variation rows do not show these two service clamp designs, so use the SKU and catalogue details to identify your part.

The cable ranges describe conductor cross-sectional area, not the outside diameter of the bundle. Also, retain the full part number when ordering so that the clamp form is clear.

DULIBST435-2 wedge clamp

The wedge design uses sliding jaws that remain attached to the body, avoiding loose jaw components. Its body is UV-stabilised glass-reinforced nylon, with a detachable stainless steel bail. It suits 2, 3 or 4 core twisted ABC within the listed range.

PLP lists a minimum failing load of 2.5 kN for IBST435-2 on page 93 of its distribution catalogue. This is a mechanical failure figure, not a working-load limit. It applies to the wedge model only.

DULIBTH21635 hook clamp

The hook model accepts two cores from 16 to 35 mm². It uses glass-reinforced, UV-stabilised clamping blocks, a high-strength aluminium alloy strap and stainless steel hardware. The Dulmison catalogue, page 8-10, identifies this as the hook version of its IBT service clamp range.

Check and order service strain clamps

  • Confirm the ABC construction, core count and conductor area.
  • Match the detachable bail or hook to the specified support.
  • Check the assembly load and installation requirements.
