Description
Termco Pin Terminals – 0.5–1.5mm² Red
Pin terminals crimp onto a stripped conductor and present a solid round pin rather than a ring, fork or tab. The pin then inserts into a matching tunnel-entry or socket-type connector. Termco red pin terminals suit stranded conductors from 0.5mm² to 1.5mm², matching the red colour code.
Because the pin locates inside an enclosed socket contact, the connection is captive once seated. Consequently, pin terminals are a common choice for terminal blocks and connector housings that accept a round pin rather than a spade or screw-clamped conductor.
Pin Sizes and Insulation Styles
Specifically, this range uses a 1.9mm diameter pin, available in two lengths:
- 9mm pin, 18.5mm overall length
- 12mm pin, 21.2mm overall length
In addition, each length is available in two insulation styles:
- Insulated — standard colour-coded insulated barrel
- Twin Grip Insulated — an alternative insulated design within the same range
Applications
Installers use pin terminals for plug-in terminal blocks, connector housings and equipment where a conductor needs to insert into a tunnel or socket contact rather than clamp under a screw. Accordingly, this range covers the pin sizes commonly found on this style of connector.
In all cases, correct crimping requires a ratchet crimping tool suited to insulated terminals in this conductor and colour range.
