Description
The Cembre TC120 cable cutter is a heavy-duty hydraulic cutting head for copper conductors, aluminium cables and telephone cables up to 120 mm diameter.
Its openable guillotine head allows operators to position the cutter around an existing cable without feeding the cable through a closed cutting head. Therefore, the TC120 suits large cable installation, maintenance, utility and industrial applications.
In addition, the cutter operates with a suitable hydraulic pump with a maximum operating pressure of 700 bar.
Cembre TC120 Cable Cutter
The TC120 uses high-strength stainless-steel blades to cut large electrical cables.
Its hydraulic system progressively drives the lower blade through the cable. Meanwhile, the openable head allows operators to position the cable directly between the blades before closing the cutting head.
In addition, an ergonomic carrying and positioning handle assists when working with the 9.5 kg head. As a result, operators can position the cutter more easily around large cables.
Cembre TC120 Cable Cutting Capacity
The Cembre TC120 cable cutter handles compatible cables with an outside diameter of up to 120 mm.
For example, suitable cable types include:
- Copper conductors and cables
- Aluminium conductors and cables
- Telephone cables
- Other compatible non-steel cables within the specified cutting capacity
However, the TC120 is not designed for steel wire rope or steel-reinforced conductors such as ACSR.
Therefore, always confirm the cable construction and outside diameter before cutting.
TC120 Hydraulic Cable Cutter Head
The openable guillotine design makes it easier to cut installed or continuous cable.
First, fully retract the lower cutting blade. Next, remove the locking pin and open the head around the cable.
Once the cable is correctly positioned, close the head and fully secure the locking pin before operating the hydraulic pump.
As a result, the TC120 can handle large cables that may be difficult to feed through a conventional closed cutting head.
Cembre TC120 700 Bar Hydraulic Operation
The TC120 hydraulic cable cutter requires a suitable hydraulic pump capable of operating at up to 700 bar.
The cutting head includes an automatic-locking male quick coupler for connection to compatible Cembre hydraulic equipment.
For example, operators can pair the cutter with the Cembre B1300PL 18V Hydraulic Pump for portable battery-powered hydraulic operation.
Therefore, the TC120 can form part of a flexible Cembre hydraulic tool system using compatible pumps, hoses and accessories.
The hydraulic pump is sold separately.
