Description
Copper parallel groove clamp for conductor joints
This copper parallel groove clamp joins two copper conductors in a compact bolted connection. Choose from the 3029-FS, 3030-FS and 3032-FS sizes to suit the cable cross-section and outside diameter. Each size has its own bolt size and tightening value, so check both conductors before choosing a clamp.
The forged copper body has transverse serrations in its grooves to help grip the conductors. Copper bolts secure the two halves, while Belleville washers help maintain pressure as the joint heats and cools under cyclic loads. In addition, an oxide inhibitor coating protects the contact surfaces.
Choose a copper parallel groove clamp size
Use the table below to compare the three ordering options. Check the actual conductor diameter as well as the nominal cable size, since both need to fall within the stated range.
| Part number | Conductor range | Bolts | Tightening torque |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3029-FS | 6–70 mm²; 2.7–10.5 mm diameter | 2 × M8 | 20 Nm |
| 3030-FS | 16–95 mm²; 5.1–12.5 mm diameter | 2 × M8 | 20 Nm |
| 3032-FS | 16–150 mm²; 5.1–15.7 mm diameter | 2 × M10 | 30 Nm |
Dimensions and handling
The catalogue gives the following overall dimensions and weights. Compare these with the space at the joint when planning access for the clamp and tools.
- 3029-FS: 35 × 35 × 42 mm (L × B × H); 0.19 kg.
- 3030-FS: 40 × 42 × 50 mm (L × B × H); 0.26 kg.
- 3032-FS: 50 × 52 × 56 mm (L × B × H); 0.43 kg.
Check the connection before ordering
This range is for copper-to-copper joints. For aluminium conductors, see the aluminium parallel groove clamp range and check its own size limits.
For further details, refer to the Engineering Supplies catalogue or the Dulmison clamp data. Follow the applicable installation instructions and use the tightening value for the selected part.
