Description
The Cembre B-TC950 is a heavy-duty 18V battery hydraulic cable cutter for copper, aluminium and telephone cables up to 95 mm diameter.
Its openable guillotine head allows operators to position the cutter around an existing cable without feeding the conductor through a closed cutting head. Therefore, the tool works particularly well for large installed cables and demanding field applications.
In addition, the compact pistol-grip design, ergonomic carrying handle and 335° rotating head help operators position the cutter around large cables.
B-TC950 Battery Hydraulic Cable Cutter
The cutter uses an 18V battery-powered hydraulic system with twin-speed operation.
First, the hydraulic ram advances rapidly to bring the cutting blades towards the cable. Then, the system automatically changes to a slower, more powerful cutting stage.
As a result, operators get fast blade positioning together with the hydraulic force required to complete large cable cuts.
The hydraulic system operates at approximately 900 bar and includes a maximum-pressure valve for added protection.
B-TC950 95 mm Cable Cutting Capacity
The B-TC950 cuts compatible cables with an outside diameter of up to 95 mm.
For example, suitable cable types include:
- Copper conductors and cables
- Aluminium conductors and cables
- Telephone and telecommunications cables
- Other compatible non-steel conductors within the specified capacity
However, Cembre specifically states that the tool must not be used to cut steel.
Furthermore, never use the cutter on live cables or energised conductors.
Openable Guillotine Cutting Head
The cutting head uses special high-strength stainless-steel blades.
Its openable guillotine design provides fast access to installed or continuous cables. Therefore, operators do not need to feed long cables through a closed cutting head.
First, open the head and position the cable between the cutting blades. Then, fully secure the head before starting the hydraulic cutting cycle.
As a result, the cutter provides a practical solution for large cable installation and removal work.
335° Rotating Cable Cutter Head
The cutting head rotates through approximately 335°.
Therefore, operators can adjust the head position to suit the cable route and surrounding equipment.
This feature is particularly useful in cable pits, substations, industrial plants and other locations where access around large cables may be restricted.
In addition, the ergonomic handle assists with positioning and carrying the 7.8 kg tool.
B-TC950 Twin-Speed Hydraulic Cutting
The hydraulic system automatically changes between two operating speeds.
Initially, the ram advances rapidly towards the cable. Then, as the cutting load increases, the system changes to a slower and more powerful cutting speed.
Consequently, the tool reduces unnecessary cycle time while still providing the force required for the final cut.
A manual pressure-release button also allows operators to stop the cycle and retract the blade whenever required.
SMARTOOL and LED Work Lights
LED work lights illuminate the cutting area during operation.
Therefore, operators can see the cable and blade position more clearly in low-light environments.
In addition, Cembre SMARTOOL technology records operating information within the tool.
The stored data can be transferred using the supplied USB cable. As a result, users can access useful information for tool management, maintenance and servicing.
