Utilux Cutting Tools

Utilux cutting tools prepare copper and aluminium cables using parrot-beak and ratchet cutter designs. Engineering Supplies offers four models, with different cable capacities and overall lengths.

First, identify the conductor material, construction and cross-section. Then compare the selected cutter’s capacity and the space needed to operate it.

Utilux cutting tools in this range

  • UT-140: parrot-beak cutter for copper and aluminium conductors up to 240mm²; 610mm overall length.
  • UT-141: parrot-beak cutter for copper and aluminium conductors up to 500mm²; 805mm overall length.
  • UT-108: gear-driven ratchet cutter for single-core copper cable up to 400mm²; 260mm overall length.
  • UT-110: single-hand parrot-beak cutter for flexible copper cables; 240mm overall length.

Compare cutting action and cable type

The UT-108 uses a ratchet mechanism with rapid blade advance. However, it is not suitable for steel. Check the cable construction before choosing this model.

Also, distinguish the flexible copper application of the UT-110 from the larger conductor capacities listed for the UT-140 and UT-141.

Next, consider clearance for the handles and cutting head. Overall tool length affects the space required, so compare it with the intended work area.

Finally, include the conductor size, material and preferred model in your enquiry. Our team can help match the listed options to the task.
