Cembre HTEP Manual Hydraulic Rail Bush Installation Tool
The Cembre HTEP Manual Hydraulic Rail Bush Installation Tool provides a portable hydraulic solution for installing Cembre AR rail web electrical connections, including the AR60D, AR260D and AR65 systems.
The tool combines a manual hydraulic pump with a 900 mm flexible high-pressure hose and HTEP-S installation head. Therefore, crews can install rail web contacts without batteries, chargers or an external power supply.
It suits railway signalling, traction return, continuity bonding, grounding and other rail electrical connection applications.
Cembre HTEP Rail Bush Installation Tool
The HTEP uses hydraulic force to pull a calibrated mandrel through the AR bush. As the mandrel passes through, it mechanically expands the conductive material against the inside of the drilled rail web hole.
As a result, the process creates the permanent metal-to-metal interface required for the rail connection.
In addition, installation requires no welding or heating of the rail.
Kit Contents
The standard HTEP kit includes:
- HTEP manual hydraulic pump
- 900 mm flexible hydraulic hose
- HTEP-S hydraulic installation head
- 2 x OG13.2 installation mandrels
- CAL19.20 Go/No-Go rail hole gauge
- AR260 Washer Kit
- VAL-HTEP metal carrying case
The OG13.2 mandrels support installation of AR60D and AR260D rail contacts.
Meanwhile, the CAL19.20 gauge allows operators to check the 19 mm rail web hole before installation. The supplied AR260 Washer Kit provides the additional tooling required for AR260D installation.
Cembre HTEP Compatible Rail Connections
AR60D
The AR60D is a single-sided M12 rail web bush connection for 14–16.5 mm rail webs using a 19 mm rail hole.
The standard kit includes the tooling required for AR60D installation.
AR260D
The AR260D provides a double-sided M12 rail web connection through a single 19 mm rail web bush.
The supplied AR260 Washer Kit supports installation of this double-sided connection.
AR65
The AR65 is a single-sided M12 rail web bush connection for 14–16.5 mm rail webs using a 22 mm rail hole.
The HTEP is compatible with the AR65 rail connection system using the appropriate installation tooling.
AR67
The tool can also install the AR67 8 mm rail web connection.
However, AR67 installation requires the separately available AR67-INST Installation Kit.
AR60A-41
For thicker rail webs, the HTEP can install the AR60A-41 double-sided connection for 40–44 mm rail webs.
This application requires the dedicated AR60.41-INST installation kit.
AR66D and AR266D-16.5
The tool can also install the AR66D and AR266D-16.5 rail web connections.
These applications use the OG10.5T-M9 mandrel together with the CAL135.145 gauge.
HTEP vs B1300TEP-T
The HTEP and B1300TEP-T perform the same fundamental rail bush installation process. However, they use different hydraulic power sources.
The HTEP uses a manual hydraulic pump, so it requires no batteries or charging equipment.
In comparison, the B1300TEP-T uses a battery-powered hydraulic pump. Therefore, the powered model may better suit frequent or higher-volume installations.
The manual tool is particularly useful for:
- Remote worksites
- Occasional rail bush installations
- Backup to battery-powered equipment
- Emergency rail maintenance
- Applications where battery charging is impractical
